Full-Time Internship Position (Greater Washington/Baltimore area)

We specialize in providing innovative solutions for critical public projects in the greater DMV region. Our expertise spans soil, air, water, noise and vibration, and hazardous waste management. Clients trust us for comprehensive environmental services, including permitting, water treatment, hazardous waste disposal, site remediation, and more. Role Description

Illest Environmental is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented full-time summer intern based in the Washington DC-Baltimore Area. You will work alongside experienced engineers and environmental professionals (including directly with Illest Environmental's co-founders) on a variety of large infrastructure construction projects, gaining hands-on experience in environmental compliance, noise and vibration monitoring, site assessments, operations, and more at a rapidly growing firm.

Responsibilities

  • Support Engineer in the development of environmental compliance plans and reports.

  • Support Engineer in implementing and maintaining noise and vibration monitoring plans in compliance with regulatory and contractual requirements.

  • Assist Engineer with designing environmental and noise & vibration solutions by analyzing data and providing recommendations based on assessments.

  • Collaborate with project teams to ensure client expectations are met with high-quality deliverables.

  • Learn about compliance with regulations, standards, and project specifications.

  • Support community relations teams in response to inquiries or complaints.

Qualifications

  • Pursuing Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Acoustical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related field.

  • Desire to grow a career in the environmental engineering field.

  • Desire to gain experience in environmental compliance, noise and vibration assessments, data analysis, and noise control solutions.

  • Proactive attitude and ability to shift focus as projects and tasks come up.

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.​​

Employment Type: Full-time internship

Duration: 10 week period (Summer) with opportunity for growth

Pay: $20-25/hour

Ability to Relocate: Greater Washington and Baltimore area; Relocate before starting work (Required)
